Have you ever been asked, “you have so much to be happy about, why can’t you just focus on those things?” I sure as hell have and my feelings towards this comment reignite every single time. I’m going to do that thing where I drone on about the importance of mental health again, especially when we’ve just had world health day and we should be talking about all types of health, visible and invisible.
It probably feels like all things mental health related are being shoved in your face, well sorry (not sorry) this means so many people are braving conflict to discuss their experiences. For me, my journey with mental health has been a rollercoaster ride with the usual ups and downs and I’m sure most of you who suffer will feel the same way. I’ve learnt a lot about myself and how my mind works over the last two years the most, after one too many shitty encounters.
Guess what?! I got through them and I survived, no matter how much pain I’ve been through, in a way it was worth it because my life wouldn’t be what it’s like now.
I got me a new man and a new job (more on that later). I believe things come in threes so I guess I better buy myself a lottery ticket!
Take it from me, if you’re going through hell, keep going. You got this people.
Until next time,
