What better way to make a blogging come back than one dedicated to the wonders of vegan food and lifestyle!?
Sooo, it’s been a while since I last blogged, over two months to be exact! I am now 3 months into my job at the vegan society and I am loving life. It’s been pretty hectic and I have kind of abandoned my blog baby, not intentionally I have been extremely busy (excuses excuses) but I am determined to get back on it.
This Saturday I went to the Coventry Vegan Festival, just as I did last year and I swear to god the vegan game has levelled up. THe food was insane and I got very snap happy with my camera, so enjoy! Have a look at the blog I wrote last year here.
Last year I went with mum but this time I managed to bring my pals along too, spread those vegan vibes! Entry is £3 but I actually got free entry because I volunteered to give out leaflets to spread the word.
Now me being me homed in on the free samples, I mean there was an abundance of cakes and brownies that just had my name on them.
These goodies were from Sacred Lotus, handmade artisan food. I got a kind of hippy, yogi vibe from the lady on this stand – nothing wrong with that but she had a really calming aura about her.
I have a real fascination with herbal teas, yeah I know stereotypical vegan much. We met a lovely lady at the Queen of Camellias who gave us some really useful advice with which teas help what ailments. Plus the tea was extremely photogenic and aesthetically pleasing!
If you’re after homemade vegan butter and cheese, look no further. I cannot explain how delicious this stuff was.
Replete Gourmet Flatbreads were at the festival last year and I was so excited to see they had a stand again. There was a banging offer of three items for a £8 (bargain!!) So we opted for the Italian flatbread with pesto filling, Indian kulcha with onion bhaji and tomato & chilli chunky filling and the Great British flatbread with cheese and Marmite. Yeah, I’m not a fan of Marmite, so mum is welcome to it!
I have a sweet tooth so anything that is a) a free sample and b) sweet, I am 100% down for that. Blue Skies were handing out ice cream samples, erm yes please and oh my god it was heavenly. We bagged ourselves some vouchers and I got a free hat!!
When it came to having some lunch we had a pretty tough decision to make. So as sharing is caring, the four of us bought a garlic pizza bread to share on top of our choice of burgers. The garlic bread was from the company Mission Pizza and damn, it was good.
Now on to the main event… I opted for a Got No Beef burger, clearly they were popular because the queue just kept on going. It was one of those burgers that is just absolute Instagram goals, just feast your eyes.
Now, what is the perfect way to finish off a post about all things vegan? Vegan cake, of course, say hello to the vegan oreo cake from the May Bakery.
Until next time,
